Sfizio Series

In Italian, uno sfizio means a little whim or fancy. Similar to the Mending and Loose Threads series, these slightly smaller handstitched collagraph monoprints explore the nature of time passing. Utilizing deep black printmaking paper and white oil ink with colorful silk threads, these works communicate a sense of secret intimacy. When creating these works, I was reminded of lingerie and the small precious fancies that we treat ourselves to in the private or hidden aspects of our lives.
